UV LIGHT: HOW DOES IT SANITIZE?
UV light contains electromagnetic energy. This type of energy targets RNA and DNA of microbes. RNA and DNA are the reason for growth, reproduction, function, and development in these microbes. The electromagnetic energy of UV light targets and destroys DNA and RNA. This can cause the microbes to be damaged or the cells to die. Such a reaction limits the opportunity for these cells to grow and spread.
We use a combination of different UV light wavelengths to get rid of up to 99.9% of bacteria. The types of UV wavelengths we use are:
UV-C: This is the UV wavelength that is widely understood as germicidal. It has the ability to eliminate fungi, bacteria, mold, and viruses.
UV-B: UV-B wavelengths have been found to be effective in eliminating certain bacteria.
UV-A: UV-A wavelengths cause the oxidation of proteins and lipids which damages the cell or causes cell death.
Other lights used in our products include blue light. In certain wavelengths, it can have up to 99.9% bacteria-eliminating properties. This light causes photo excitation of endogenous porphyrins. This causes the creation of reactive oxygen species. These are toxic to bacterial microbes.

SANITIZATION TECHNOLOGY BY VIOLET DEFENSE
We have two different series of UV sanitization lights to choose from: the Vantage series and the Flash series. Both of them use the combination of all the UV wavelengths we have listed above.
VANTAGE
The Vantage series is a fully installable UV light. It is a permanent sanitization solution for your needs. Here’s what you should know about this product:
Can give 100-150 square feet of disinfecting coverage to surfaces and the air the light hits.
Is equipped with motion sensor technology to only function when the room is unoccupied.
Has fully automatic functions. Vantage can be set to turn on at specific times or controlled with a remote.
Offers custom mounting plate options that allow for installation wherever you want it. We can install Vantage using these mounting plates: wall-mount, suspension, drop-ceiling, and hard-ceiling.
FLASH
The Flash series is the portable version of Vantage. Take your disinfecting UV light to nearly any space. Here’s what you should know about Flash:
This height-adjustable tripod can be used with up to 3 Vantage units to reach more difficult areas. It also gives you up to 360-degree disinfection coverage.
Each unit can be removed and used for smaller areas.
Flash can hit up to 300 square feet of disinfecting coverage per cycle.
Like Vantage, Flash is equipped with motion sensor technology allowing the device to only be active when the room is unoccupied.
